From a small wood shop to one of the largest full-range suppliers in Germany

In more than 100 years of company history Holz-Schnettler Soest Import-Export GmbH (HSS) has developed from a wholesaler to one of the largest importers and exporters of sawn timber in Germany. Founded in 1915, HSS is today an owner-managed medium-sized family business with 35 employees managed by Frank Schnettler.

Extensive stock
As a full-range supplier we are able to supply our customers with a very deep and broad portfolio of logs, lumber, wood-based materials and veneers.
We store many different wood species from all over the world on appr. 100,000 m2 at our warehouses in Soest and at several sea ports.

Purchasing
We buy logs from all over the world. These logs are professionally inspected by our trained staff on site. We also purchase fresh and salable woods from good productions. The resulting price advantage we are happy to pass on to our customers. The goods are sorted according to our established quality standards.

Service
Our experienced and trained staff ensures consistent high quality throughout the entire manufacturing process. The large stock gives us the opportunity to respond to individual customer requests. Our vacuum chambers and our own trucks enable us to supply you just-in-time.

Export
Direct shipments from the individual countries of origin as well as individual container deliveries from our warehouse in Soest make us a sought-after partner for our worldwide customers. Our main export markets are in the EU, Eastern Europe, Asia, the Gulf States and North America.

Sustainability
We have committed to comply with due diligence requirements within the framework of the EU Trade Regulation and are a member of the Monitoring Organization of the German Timber Trade Association (GD Holz). By this control we can prove that our wood comes from sustainably managed forests.
